Evernote (free) – Best note client. Recognizes text in pictures. Get the desktop app too.
fring (free)- You can use this to make Google Voice calls if you hook your account up through Gizmo.
iConcertCal (free)- You have to hook it up to iTunes, but you’ll know when your bands are coming to town.
iFM-tells you what’s playing right now on your radio station. basically a program guide with history. Never updates on time. Let me know when it’s fixed.
Instapaper (free, pro $4.99 aka worth it) - allows you to read articles later from the internets. I use this all the time. My thoughts on Instapaper.
My6sense (free) - Ultra buggy feed reader that knows what you want to read. I need to do a write up on this one.

Simplify Music 2 ($5.99)- the music library on your computer is accessible with this app
Simplify Photo ($2.99)- Same as the music library but for photos. You don’t need to take up disk space with pictures of your kitties. You can download pictures to the phone if you want to set a wallpaper or something.

You should also include the Uquery.com link to every application you mention… as the HTTP link and info arrives faster and has more info the iTunes… plus we might not actually want to DL the app !!
Guy,
Great suggestion, but you will want to download all of these apps.
Nope ! — I wish someone out there had a iApp Exchange… where you could pay $19 [pick a number] and then get XX apps for you to take away in a package deal… just like Recording companies did with music compilations on CD… but you could build your own compilation… need it, need it, need it, got it need it, got it.
Another thing that I have been trying to nut out… after DL the SKD for the iPhone and just being blown away by the complexity of developing from scratch … can’t developers compile a i386 version in with every App for your iPhone… so you can run your app on your Mac Book etc… and then sync it to your iPhone… games… ide prefer to play them on the mac… of course the location based apps are only going to be of use on the iPhone… but many apps that use data… would be awesome to have a Mac compiled version to be able to run.
